Extracting 800xA PG2 graphics with the Documentation Tool

Note: This method has been replaced by the usage of the Assyst tools.

  • You must be running the extraction tool on a monitor that is at least as high resolution as the natural PG2 graphics. For example, you can only extract graphics from a 27" screen (resolution 2560x1440) on a monitor of the same or higher resolution.
  • You must have Microsoft Excel installed.

Graphic Documentation Procedure

  • Navigate to graphics files using "Display Documentation Tool"
PG2 display documentation.PNG

  • Select all the graphics as shown
PG2 1.png

  • "Extract Data" to export them with the switch setting documented
PG2 2.png

  • The result will be a set of XLS files named for the graphics, each with a timestamp. (Old versions will be automatically suppressed by newer ones of the same name and a newer time.)

Image Aspects in the XLS file

  1. Ensure that the full width of the graphic is found in the XLS file. (Don't attempt extraction using a Remote Desktop because Remote Desktop Connections may sometimes make the width narrower, like 1600, instead of full width 1920 pixels)
  2. There is no way known to eliminate the arrows and numbers when using this method. Because of this, we have had a custom tool developed for us by Assyste Systeme LD.
