Introductory Tutorials: Getting started with Hyperview

This set of tutorials is designed to introduce you to Hyperview's main features. By working through them, you will gain a basic understanding of system navigation and signal tracing using Hyperview, the DBDOC browser, how to search your system in various ways, and how display live system data on documents and graphics, as well as plot live data from any block in your system.

Navigation and Signal Tracing

  • Panes and Focus in Hyperview — An overview of the DBDOC browser, how information is presented in "panes", and how to switch focus from one pane to another.

  • Database Search — An introduction to searching for blocks based on database attributes such as tag name or description text.
  • Topic Title Search — How to use the Topic Title Search to interactively narrow in on a document of interest.
  • Search Navigation — Techniques for navigating search result topics and search hits from a past search without opening the Search dialog.
  • Finding Coordinates — Methods for finding exact coordinates on graphics or CAD/CLDs to, for example, locate problem areas identified in build error reports.
