Methods of connecting CIUMon to a CIU

CIUMon can be connected directly to some types of CIU.

CIUMon can have a serial connection directly to an ICI01 (NCIU04), NCIU01, NCIU02, or NCIU03 CIU

For other types of CIU, CIUMon must be connected through RoviSys Turbo.

CIUMon must be connected through RoviSys Turbo to communicate with an ICI03, ICI10, ICI12 or ICI13 CIU

Connecting through RoviSys Turbo also allows a CIU to be shared between CIUMon and other programs, such as WinCAD or Composer.

If CIUMon is connected through RoviSys Turbo, other programs can connect to the same CIU through RoviSys Turbo

RoviSys Turbo can be connected via serial port to an IET800 ethernet CIU. This lets DBDOC take advantage of RoviSys Turbo's turbo mode features. Contact us for instructions on how to set this up.

You can connect RoviSys Turbo to the serial port on an IET800 ethernet CIU

Alternatively, you can create special DBDOC blocks in Harmony OPC Server to allow DBDOC to connect to an IET800 ethernet CIU over your network. (However, because this method does not allow you to use RoviSys Turbo's turbo mode features, it will typically provide less throughput than using RoviSys Turbo to connect either to the ethernet CIU or to another serial or SCSI CIU.)
