Installing the Assyst tools for extraction of 800xA graphics

This should not be necessary as of DBDOC 11.5, which added direct support for PG2 graphics to our parsing of AFW backup files.

Originally, DBDOC extracted VB graphics from 800xA backup AFW files. When PG2 graphics were introduced, originally the ABB Documentation Tool exports were supported, but they were incomplete and somewhat mangled. DBDOC 10.5.1 added support for PG2 extractions based on tools provided by Assyst. To install these tools:

  1. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the DBDOC Kits folder of the DBDOC installation DVD and double-click assyst-installer.exe.
Information-noshadow.png Note: This should be done on an 800xA workstation, otherwise the tools will fail to run and/or will be unable to extract any data.
Information-noshadow.png Note: You can also download the latest version of this installer from https://gmcl.com/downloads.php.
  2. You can choose to install to something other than the default path of C:\DBDOC\AssystBin, but keep in mind that the extraction program will nonetheless extract graphics to C:\DBDOC\Graphics. If this isn't suitable for your setup, please contact GMCL.
  3. See extracting 800xA graphics using the Assyst tools for further instructions.
