In relay mode, CIUMon will send requests for data along to an upstream CIUMon, and pass back the responses. If there is a firewall between your users and the upstream CIUMon, you need only configure the firewall to allow the relay mode CIUMon to pass requests through it on a single UDP port, and this will allow all of your users to get data by communicating with the relay mode CIUMon. If your firewall rules require the upstream CIUMon to initiate all communications, you may use collector mode instead.
To run CIUMon in relay mode:
If you have changed the UDP port for the CIUMon you want to connect to, specify the port in the UDP port of upstream CIUMon box.
Once you have configured CIUMon to run in relay mode, save your configuration and make sure you can get data from your CIU.
Note: In the display of the upstream CIUMon that is connected to the CIU, requests that come from the relay mode CIUMon will have the IP address of the relay mode CIUMon. However, the logon name will be the user who is using the data.
