Hotspots are hyperlinks in Hyperview. They are interactive areas that, when clicked on, cause a different document to be loaded into one of the Hyperview panes. The principal kinds of hotspots are summarized below.
In the Index Pane:
- Index Hotspot: By clicking on an index hotspot in the index pane, that index will be displayed either in the index pane or the content pane.
- Resource Hotspot: Most hotspots in the index pane link to documents and resources like operator graphics, CAD or CLD sheets, documentation, and other items such as Batch or Ladder files. Clicking on these hotspots causes the resource in question to be displayed in the content pane.
For more information see Clicking on hotspots in the index pane.
In the Content Pane:
- Blocks & Input/Output References: By clicking on a hotspot that represents a block or reference on a graphic or CAD or CLD sheet, its source and uses will be displayed in the index pane. By double-clicking on it, you will go directly to the block's source or the associated output reference.
- Links to documents: By clicking on a hotspot that represents a link to another graphic, you will automatically be directed to that graphic. Links can be identified by their name that appears when you mouse over them.
