Connecting directly to a CIU

  1. On the Options menu, click CIUMon Settings. Choose a UDP port, and select your CIU type.
  2. Click the Communication Modes tab, and click Connect directly through serial port.
  3. Click the Comm and Flow Control Settings tab, and select the serial port connected to the CIU in the Serial Port list.

    Information-noshadow.png Note: If EWS software, such as Composer or WinCAD, is set up on the same computer, then you may wish to move the serial connection to a different COM port. This way you do not have to change any settings in the EWS software, but that software and CIUMon are not trying to access the same port.

  4. If you know that any of the other settings need to be changed for your setup, change them now. Usually the defaults are fine.
  5. Click OK to close the Options window. Then, make sure you can get data from your CIU.

Information-noshadow.png Note: If the Communication Modes tab does not appear, you may be running CIUMon in relay mode. Load another configuration, and choose (New DCS Configuration) or another configuration that is in DCS mode.
