DBDOC Licensing and Pricing

System Licensing

Unrestricted License

The unrestricted license is the licensing option typically chosen by our customers. This DBDOC license includes use of all DBDOC components needed to build and support the use of an INFI-90® system. We license a site for unrestricted number of users, and PCs.

The Rovisys® OPC90® Lite Server is licensed separately (see below).

Single-User License

A single user license is intended as an introduction to DBDOC, or for use with an application such as PI. Under the single-user license agreement, DBDOC is installed and available for use on a single PC.

Corporate License

A corporate discount is available for companies wishing to purchase unrestricted licenses for systems at several sites at a time to be installed by a central office or team. In this case, the system license is discounted to reflect the multiple site commitment for the company. Contact us for more information on corporate pricing.

Pricing

Pricing is based on the size (number of documents) of the INFI-90®system(s) in use at the plant, and is typically quoted as a site license for the number of systems being licensed at that site. Document count includes: CAD sheets, graphics, batch files and Ladder files (as 50 CAD sheets each) AutoCAD and MicroStation drawings as appropriate, B90 (Batch), .XLS files, .TXT files, .RTF files and .pdf files.

If the size or number of systems at a site increases after licensing, the license price will be adjusted accordingly.

Rovisys® OPC90® Server

Rovisys® OPC90® Server products are used to multiplex the CIU and for security. Versions from December 2005 and later support read-only connections. The following Rovisys OPC90 family products are available through GMCL. Contact us for pricing information.

  1. Lite OPC-90 Server: allows up to 250 blocks, 2 clients, and 2 MUXCIU blocks.
  2. Lite OPC-90 Plus Server: allows up to 500 blocks, 3 clients, and 3 MUXCIU blocks.
  3. Standard OPC-90 Server: allows up to 5000 blocks, 4 clients, and 4 MUXCIU blocks.
  4. Unlimited OPC-90 Server: allows an unlimited number of blocks*, clients, and MUXCIU blocks** (actual limits are number of blocks supported by the ABB CIU utilized and total number of available PC COM ports).
  5. OPC-90 Server Software Upgrade: upgrades older OPC-90 Server versions to support read only connections. Read about why you should upgrade...
  6. OPC-90 Year Maintenance Contract: Allows anytime download access to the latest server release. Contract customers are sent an email when new versions are released. The contract covers all servers purchased for a specific plant site.
  7. Installation Hardware: G. Michaels Consulting Ltd. assembles and sells a small hardware kit to seamlessly integrate DBDOC and RoviSys with your system, it contains a (order part # 20) 4 Port USB to RS-232 Serial DB9 Adaptor and a Null modem cable.

* The actual limit is the number of blocks supported by the ABB® CIU being utilized.

Warranty and Upgrades

DBDOC is supported by an initial one-year warranty from GMCL that starts at the beginning of the first month after acceptance of the item by the client. Upgrades and off-site telephone and email support is included at no charge as part of the warranty service. Continued annual extended warranty pricing is 20% of the current purchase price. We generate upgrades to our software and will inform you of them regularly. Software updates will be sent to the client using email, courier or mail as appropriate.

Payment Options

Payment can be made by a company issuing a purchase order to G. Michaels Consulting Ltd. Accepted currencies are: U.S., Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars, British Pounds and Euros. Payment in U.S. dollars can also be made by VISA or MasterCard.
