These options control what messages are displayed in the CIUMon window and, if logging to file is turned on, recorded in the log file.
In relay mode or collector mode, some of these options may not be available.

CIUMon clients (such as Hyperview) send CONNSTAT (connection status) messages periodically to check whether CIUMon is connected to the CIU, and whether they are blocked. The messages displayed in the CIUMon window can be recorded in a log file. Some messages will be logged to file even if they are turned off in the CIUMon window. The rest of the logging options control how the log files are managed.
By default, CIUMon only records errors and messages indicating when it has connected to the CIU. Select Log all data if you want to save all messages to the log file.
When this option is selected, log files are limited to the size specified. Otherwise log files will grow without limit.
This is on by default. The default size limit is 10MB.
Select this option to record all of the messages from the CIUMon window to a log file.
This creates logs which only include the messages from shortly before and shortly after errors. If multiple errors occur close together, the messages between them will only be logged once.
CIUMon can be set to log up to thirty minutes of messages before and after each error. The default is three minutes before and after each error. The minimum amount that CIUMon can log after an error is one minute, but there is no minimum before errors. CIUMon only keeps the latest 10,000 lines to add to the log before the next error, so if there is heavy data use, the log may start later than specified.
This is on by default.
Start a new log:
This creates a new log file when the current log file reaches the size limit. If there is no size limit, it creates a new file each day. It also automatically deletes old files, keeping only the most recent files. The number of recent log files to keep can be changed.
This is the default logging mode, with a default limit of two files.
This creates a new log file each day. If a size limit is specified, CIUMon will stop adding to each day's log file when it reaches the maximum size. Unlimited logging is not recommended, as it can easily create very large files.
Daily log files are never automatically deleted by CIUMon, so if you use daily logs, you must occasionally check the available disk space and delete old logs.
This creates a new log file once an hour. If a size limit is specified, CIUMon will stop adding to the current log file when it reaches the maximum size. Unlimited logging is not recommended, as it can easily create many large files.
Hourly log files are never automatically deleted by CIUMon, so if you use hourly logs, you must occasionally check the available disk space and delete old logs.
You can change which folder CIUMon uses to store its log files. This may be useful if, for instance, the default folder is on a disk with limited space.
If you have more than one configuration, they will all store their logs in the same folder. When the folder is changed, CIUMon and any services running on your computer will immediately begin using the new folder.
